Well, I greatly apologize to everyone (mostly myself considering the number of hits this thing gets) but between work, life (or the lack of) and a few physical aches and pains, I have completely lost track of this baby.
I was watching a video earlier and in doing so, it made me think .... didn't I used to write something about these things? Didn't I used to drink a few cold ones and share a little bit of my silliness on the youtube? Then I remembered you and thought, lets do another one.
Hopefully this will prompt me to get back into the swing of things.....As for that video....
Click 1 - Mista Bone - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWfwm8vmWsA
First, you did not read that title wrong, it is spelled correctly. Watch the video and that part will be self-explanatory.
Second, at my age in the 80's it was fairly customary for most young men to have leather jackets or "leathers" for short. I had an awesome "heavy metal" style leather jacket that I purchased at great expense in those days from JCPenny.
I know, JCPenny is not the coolest rock-n-roll clothier in the world, but it is what I could afford in those days. However, a plain leather jacket was not the plan, so after breaking in the jacket, I took it to a local airbrush artist that "customized" the back for me. That cost around 20 dollars and about half my poster collection at the time (a BIG sacrifice in those days). Anyway, the design was based on this song. It was a human skull, kinda smiling, wearing a red bandanna that read "Mista Bone".
You can see the design on a few of Great Whites other videos that include the tour bus where the design was painted onto the back of the bus.
Cheezy by today's standards???? Hell Yes. But by a teenagers standards in the mid 80's into that most awesome "hair metal", I was awesome. I still wish I knew which wife or girlfriend from those days took the jacket so I could get it back!!!!! At this point, I would frame it and hang it like a museum piece.
Click 2 - Your so Vain - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41zKVmk4z8Q
So, Carly Simon shows up on this blog ... nah, its a cover and a pretty bad one at that. I have generally enjoyed Faster Pussycat (yes, named after that awful movie from the late 60's) but this is bad. Enough Said.
Click 3 - Someone Like You - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5u0yiplamdw
Bang (Bango?) Tango came on late in the 80's and basically missed the gravy train. They may have even been "big" had they come along at the right time. The shameful thing is that this isn't terrible other than the singers voice (which disturbs me for some reason?). I've heard other songs from these guys that I really liked, so I guess this song just doesn't work for me. I will admit that I never owned any of their stuff.
Special note - I think we are definitely stuck in the 80's at this point. Sorry or Congrats! Your choice.
Click 4 - Walkin Shoes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5k9UDRO43Vc
Good Lord, so happy this one showed up in the list. I will never forget walking into "Turtles Records" as it was called in those days and the manager smiling and saying I got something new for you!!!!!!!!! He hit that opening guitar lick and I said sold. These young boys if I remember right where all in high school when this was recorded. Memphis blues rock, yeah, that works for me. This band arrived a "little" late to the whole 80's sound (thanks Nirvana) but they had this and one more successful album.
Click 5- Thats Life - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Orh6JEjtliE
Not sure that I have ever featured this band, but they are my favorite band that hit it a little too late in the 80s. A bunch of boys from Texas that ventured out to Cali to try and hit it big. The first album featuring this song was awesome. Sadly, the second one aptly titled "6s, 7s and 9s" was just that and failed them.
Click 6 - Simple Man - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BX2YXd5FoXo
Since I enjoyed the previous video so much, I will break a rule and go with two from the same band tonight since I haven't heard from these guys in years. Try a more southern version of Junkyard and see what I mean about them being from Texas. They were truly talented. It makes me wonder if they had stayed at home could they have done better?
Wow, its been a long time, I will try to remember this outlet a little more frequently. Having gone through this exercise tonight, I remember it being rather therapeutic. All the more reason to do it more often!!!!!!!

Pre-Fourth of July Trip
What do you say to a pre-Fourth of July Trip? This one is going to be ALL about rock and roll though.
Click 1 - Burning Beard - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nIAnCJL1f0
I love me some Clutch, not really the guys, just the music! Strange video.
Click 2 - Hank is Dead - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgV7hnjoyt0&list=RDkHxiouKy8Ho&index=3
Two thoughts, one, how weird is the whole shower scene at the beginning? Two, its nice to see someone drinking cheaper beer than me! OK! So maybe I have a third thought, how funny is the whole air guitar contest.
Click 3 - Save me from Myself -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMz3DmVUHQI&index=41&list=RDkHxiouKy8Ho
Holy Cow, so you know my love of Orange Goblin and my love/hate relationship with the videos that are nothing more than the album cover and the song!!!! This is no different! This my favorite song on the album (maybe second favorite?) but there is not a real video. I hope you like it. I like the pseudo-harmony sound in the middle of the song. I also like the whole concept of "saving me from myself". There are times when I understand this particular lyric more than anything else.
Click 4 - Doomsday Machine - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2SdzgPj3_o&list=RDkHxiouKy8Ho&index=40
Kadavar has burst onto the scene with this super thick 70's sound. I really like this song and band.
Click 5 - King of the Road - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zko7pBeHkk&list=RDkHxiouKy8Ho&index=26
Fu Manchu is awesome !!!!! Their music has been used for various shows on AE and other skateboarding and bike building shows. I originally found this song on one of those Jesse James bike building shows.
Click 6 - Space Lord - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dscfeQOMuGw&list=RDkHxiouKy8Ho&index=6
This might be a repeat, not sure in my current mind space, but Monster Magnet is one of my favorites. I love this video!!! This is another one of those guys that I wish I was half as cool as. Dave is a strange combination of lots of things that make me wish rock and roll had called me into the fold earlier in life (or that I had had the talent for rock and roll).

Older Ladies !!!!!!!!!!!! Are Divine ??????????????????
OMG. Spotted the starter block in a rather strange place today (not divulging that location) but I am divulging this video. I think it is awesome. Maybe a silver headed fox is what I should be looking for ......
Click 1 - Older Ladies - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4QzHeUE-CM
This is a really funny way to look at the idea of an older woman. In my 20's an older woman was an awesome idea (of course they were in there 30s then) but now .... lets just say keep your eyes open for all possibilities, you never know when the best thing in your life might appear.
With that said and that video posted, I am EXTREMELY concerned about where this might lead us. Let me look at the suggestions, we may need to take a detour.......
Yep! As a expected, I tried a couple of the "you should try this links" and we do NOT want to try any of those! Oh well, lets detour and have a fun trip ....
Click 2 - Sensible Shoes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKWiKNMKhgQ
I won't even lie! Its taken about 1 hour to find a reasonable detour, but I think this one will work.... Funny thing is I didn't know this video existed! The song finally popped into my head after 60 minutes of failure trying to follow Click 1. I think this one works but in a REALLY odd kinda way.
Its no secret that I think that DLR is one of the best front men ever! Tight lyrics that actually make sense, humor to go along with it and a look that I will never be able to reflect. I think this video shows all three! This is probably the last thing that he did that exhibited all three of those attributes. Did I mention that Dave is one of my favorite "brushes with greatness"? Ask me about it some time and I will explain.
Click 3 - Rock Me - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg06B46VVys
Sometimes, when you pick a video by a well established band, its tough for Youtube to give you any suggestion other than that band. Tonight, I find myself in that position with Dave except for this one suggestion, which happens to be awesome. I got a couple of Great White stories but I dont think sharing them here is appropriate. If you want a full description of this awesome band, ask me, lets just say that one starts with a pistol and the other starts with a married woman. The rest go down from there, but its all about the rock n roll so ROCK ME.
Click 4 - Slow and Easy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9uFNHvDBVg
Well at least we have choices now. Known as a Robert Plant wanna be, Whitesnake leader singer is an awesome influence on the eighties music scene. Some of that has to do with the videos featuring his then girlfriend, Tawny Kitaen! O yeah, look her up on Google and that white dress! Anyways, this is an awesome song. This one pre-dates her but probably helped lead him in that direction. Strange but real fact, this guy was at one point considered a possible replacement for Bon Scott (after his untimely death) in AC/DC. Great song and still one of my favorite band names of all time. I only have one story about this band, I was able to find myself in an elevator with both David and Tawny in Birmingham Alabama a few hours before the show and he was not so nice, but she was truly as beautiful in that moment as she was in that video. Bottom line, he was DICK!!!! I guess he wan't happy that I was in the elevator?
Click 5 - Dirty Little Mind - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FMNb4Jw2KI
So Jackyl is a really fun band originally out of the Atlanta area. I think Jesse owns a rather large bar these days around Sturgis!!!!!! You might have seen him on a few show.....?????? I think this one hit the streets during my second marriage. I have never seen this band live (kinda odd I know). However, my second wife did see them live and bought me this really cool (at least rock wise) shirt that had printed on the back "Rock Me, Roll Me, Jackyl Me Off". See the shirt at 0:55 of the video. Still have that freakin shirt somewhere.....
Click 6 - Thunderkiss 65 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPNFVj-pISU
I love this song and video and I am super happy this one came up in the list. The video has a whole Faster Pussycat vibe going which is really cool (look that one up, 1965 exploitation movie) that I actually paid 90s money to see. Fun and groovy all at the same time. Funny thing is that this is not the only band to refer to their love of the movie, think Faster Pussycat!!!! Where did they get that name from?
And with that, we end this trip!

Well, Its Sunday, Lets see what is being offered
Its Sunday evening. I have had a good weekend. I wonder what Youtbue is offering for the nights adventure...
Click 1 - Gypsy Road - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j7E7pvLxmI
Wow, without a doubt one of the coolest sounding "blues rock" bands ever. I've been able to see them several times but not on this particular tour. I think its is cool too see the band playing around the Aztec ruins. Hard to believe I didn't see this back in the day!
Click 2 - The Ballad Of Jayne - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6198qSm0Y0
One of the most underrated bands of the hair metal days. They got lost in the whole Guns n Roses scene. A really soft ballad that stands the test of time, but also demonstrates why they got lost in the shuffle. How could this band even afford that much production on their second album as the "metal" business was dying?
Click 3 - Fly to the Angels - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukmobha2krY
Never figured this one would end up here but that is what happens when you allow Youtube to guide you. Without a doubt, one of the prettiest singers of the 80s (not that I float that way) and one of the coolest sounding voices too (probably has to do with the effects channel). Love the visual of the vintage planes setting against the lyrics though.
Click 4 - Yankee Rose -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9_VIXvCgl8
Speaking of pretty, its my honeymoon night baby!! I love the late eighties David Lee Roth videos. These things are as funny as the lyrics that the man comes up with .... So give me a bottle of anything and a glazed doughnut to goooooooooo ............. forget about it! Coming off the fall out with VH, Dave went out on his on! I met Dave in Huntsville Alabama on this tour. Strange story, we were both taking a leak by a dumpster on the backside of the Von Braun. I couldn't talk him into some passes for the show but it was awesome, go back to Click 1 - Cinderella opened on an earlier album.
Click 5 - Get the Funk Out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1AxoPTAgxA
Musically speaking these guys are tight. DAMN, that was one amazing solo at the start of the song! AND another one at the 4:45 minute mark! That singer spent a "minute" as the singer for VanHanlen!!!!!!!!!!
Click 6 - Solo/Eruption - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDOFIttS69I
Just for fun, we will end with another VanHalen reference. Eddy is an amazing guitarist! but needs to check his ego at the door. Then again, if I could play to well, the last thing I would check at the door is my EGO>
Nice trip!

Its Friday, lets get stone'rd
Its Friday, I need Friday! Its been a really long week and I hope this will help me to wash some of the week's crap off of me...... Well now its Saturday, I wasn't able to complete this last night for a variety of reasons.... Lets see what we have and what we need to add......
Click 1 - Viking - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw3vWT8fy0w
I love the 70's inspired sound that these guys have going! I also like the fact that it is so close to modern rock n roll sound. For me, this is the "bomb" from a driving sound that needs little or no introduction. This is my first listen of the band and song, let me know what you think
Click 2 - Badass Rock n Roll - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeGmo_0gsSg
WOW! Anvil has gotten a little attention of late as one of the last "hangers on" from the greatest decade musically. These guys have to be approaching my Dad's age which is inspiring to me. The sound is kinda generic which is why the never made it to the top, but at least they aren't slaving to a 9-5 job.
Click 3 - Gandalf Took the Drug- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7cF8ib6VYk
I have no idea of where this comes from, but I love the combination of slide guitar and harmonica! This is some crazy stuff and I love the Tolkien reference. This one reminds me of a favorite band, Five Horse Johnson except for the vocals. I will need to dig a little deeper into this band.
Click 4 - Hocus Pocus - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4ouPGGLI6Q
Well, I can absolutely say that I have never heard lyrics like that! Strange might be the only way to describe this one, but it is original. The keyboardist eye's are insane...... and a standing ovation at the end? Goodness knows where this might lead to.....
Click 5 - Radar Love - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQjqqy2hhDA
This is a live version from that Midnight Special show that I dont remember ever seeing as a kid, but it looks like it was awesome. Anyway, White Lion covered this in the 80's using a heavier drum to bring out the sound which is what turned me onto the song. Terry Bozio (spelling?) played drums with Golden Earring if I remember correctly and he went on to play with Jeff Beck in his solo days.
Click 6 - Blinded by the Light - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcWVL4B-4pI
Hit another Midnight Special, man I need to dig into those archives. Check out this super cool edition! Odd fact, Bruce Springsteen originally wrote and recorded this song!
Strange trip, not sure why I didn't complete it last night (well......) but I enjoyed finishing it today.

Orchestra Time?
Wow! As you can guess, I am not a big fan of orchestra music. Sure, it takes a tremendous amount of time and practice to develop the skills to be included in an orchestra and they do sound amazing in the right music hall with the acoustics, etc. but Rock N Roll? Not really.
A few years ago, a few bands thought it would be a neat night out for them to team up with an orchestra and play their songs. Old geezers at the orchestra house (and season tickets) get an introduction to modern rock and roll and young kids get an introduction to the cello. Fair enough, Metallica pulled it off rather well but as an accompaniment to the band!
Today, I found this starter video which will no doubt land us on some rather strange combinations ... As Jim said, "People are Strange....."
Click 1 - Baby Got Back - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w59e20ijOpE
Love the enthusiasm of the ladies on the stage. Can't and won't guess the ladies age, but that one in the black dress seemed to be enjoying a little more than the rest. Was she a plant or a MOM that really needed to fun night out (and hit the bottle early)?
Click 2 - Master of Puppets - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A39C6o6x-fU
Awesome song, with or without the orchestra! In listening to this it makes me wonder of who is at the disadvantage, orchestra or band? With the orchestra, the band has to be so amazingly tight from a timing standpoint (almost TOO structured for a rock and roll sound). At the same time, the orchestra (or conductor at least) better be prepared to "resynch" as necessary. Maybe I'm wrong on both accounts as I have ZERO musical skills, just looking in from the fans side.
Click 3 - Nothing Else Matters - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QohUdrgbD2k
So, I don't know anything about Lucie Silvas except she is gorgeous and can sing. I don't know the story of her choosing a Metallica song to perform (maybe she does this often?). However, that sure is an uptight looking orchestra crowd sitting around those initial tables. I wonder if they heard the original would they be so appreciative of the song?
Click 4 - I am the Walrus - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTvsSnRKw2E
Lots happening here! First, Tommy is from my hometown and we went to the same high school, a couple of years apart. I played ball with his cousin. This is a youth orchestra, which makes this so much more amazing to me. Lastly, they are not even playing a song by the band Styx. Lots of practice required to pull this one off.
Click 5 - Ive Seen All Good People - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvEVQorkkKw
I had to do a little double check just to make sure, but this is the John Anderson of (semi) fame the band Yes. I wasn't a big fan of "progressive" rock and roll in my early days but his voice is so recognizable from Yes videos on MTV (yeah, back when they were a video station not pregnant pre-teens). Its fun to simply see the just how much fun the kids are having during the show.

Based on the explanation, I guess that is the name of the song. I'm not a fan of Ben Fold or whatever he/they are called, but hethey are playing with the contemporary orchestra and its fun how he pulls them all together to make it interesting. I guarantee this guy has a lot more in his music repatriate than standard rock n roll skills based on his pulling that together (rehearsed or not).
Fabulous and accidental find to kick us off and fun to run with the concept ..... I hope you enjoyed it too.

Its Pouring Outside, Might as Well Bust Out a Groove
Before we get started, I would like to send a quick shout out to my friends out BBQ Pitmasters. They hit the 3,000th "chapter"mark recently and they have a cool video of the party ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJxlh2G5FuU.
Anyway, lets hit the trail and have an adventure ... I was offered several good starting points tonight, so I thought I would start with one of my favorite bands.
Click 1 - Time Traveling Blues - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcdfUR0KsZ4
I love these guys. I've seen them twice now! This is definitely one of the slower and mellow'er songs. At this early point in their career, they were pigeon-holed as a "stoner band" but I feel that has changed as they have aged. Sorry its only a song without a video, but its still an awesome song.
Click 2 - Whorehouse Blues - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0sik4yZHY8
Holy Shit (sorry mama).. This is awesome! Motorhead doing a full out acoustic song! I can only hope to be half as cool as Lemmy when I am 60+ years old. Once again, I find myself listening to a totally "bluesy" sounding song from a hard rocking band. Speaking of hard rocking, Lemmy and the gang have been doing it a LONG time, probably in part what the lyrics are about.
Click 3 - Its a Long Way to the Top if You Wanna Rock and Roll - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5adE83TYzQ
Lets move on to one of the best (and my favorite) RNR band of all times. I've probably explained in previous entries about my LOVE of AC/DC music. In this entry they play the song with a guest singer, Lemmy sounds great in this song.
Click 4 - You Shook Me All Night Long - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoZZ4Y2NQTY
What a duo, Steven Tyler joins AC/DC for an awesome version of the classic song. For those that know me, I did get my obsession for hats (non baseball) from Brian! Hilarious moment of the video is Cliff essentially ignoring Steven! at 2:08 of the video. AC/DC is known for their "tight" musicianship (is that a word?) and Cliff wasn't going to allow a special guest to mess with that.
Click 5 - Bohemian Rhapsody - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9ecR5b8yc4
Speaking of weird duo's and interesting special guests, try this one on for size. I really like the song. However, I wouldn't pay a penny to support Axl Rose again in my life. The last time I saw GNR in Birmingham Alabama, Axl fired two or three sound men and claimed he could not continue the concert due to his voice being ruined. What a pile of stuff!
Click 6 - Blue Snow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R23lIyaNgiQ
Given my last statement, I thought we would end with one of my two TOP rock and roll songs of all time. I love the tone that the bass and guitar combine to create at the opening, faded in from the roar of the motorcycle and drum intro. While you don't get that intro in this live version, look up a sound track version and you will see what I mean! Is that the drummer from Clutch jamming the drums during the show? Yep!
Normally, we would end the adventure here but I feel like I could use one more and since EVERYTHING in the recommendation list is Orange Goblin, I see another favorite and cant resist the urge for one more ...
Click 7- Eulogy for the Damned - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Gg9ld41amI
I know this is one of those worthless videos where someone plays the song to an image of the album cover but it is another awesome song. The lyrics are pretty dark which is a stark contrast to that mellow intro.
"All the saints see them coming and they run" and "we are dying from the day that we are born"! Sounds like Ben was channeling his inner Jim Morrison
Amazing trip tonight, I hope you had a good time and maybe found a new band. I do this for you, send me some feedback (good or bad) about these bands or a band you want me to try and we will include it!!!

Awesome Conference, Glad to be Home
So, I spent the past four days in Washington DC (or actually Grand Harbor, MD) at a work conference. We sent our whole team, as a team building and learning event for the year. Really good conference but too little time to actually get out and see the sites. I did manage a four hour excursion to the Mall in DC to see some of the memorials and a couple of Smithsonian buildings. Yes, four hours for all of that = we saw very little of anything and walked about a years worth of exercise. Glad to be home, wiped out, here is the result of a tired adventure.....
Click 1 - Walkin' on Moonshine - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUDHscWdBeU
Funny how Youtube can pick the right song at the right time. This is how I feel today. Honky is a cool band, I am about 50/50 on their music. This song is not really the best representation of this band as it is far more bluesy and laid back than most of the other tunes. JD (the singer and songwriter) has been in music a long time and is more recognizable from his "Butthole Surfer" days. That dog at the end of the video watching the fiddle player is hilarious.
Click 2 - Swamp - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrYtbWBexsY
Half of this adventure is about me finding some new tunes and bands to dig into, and this is one of those new ones. I've heard of Hogjaw, but I have never really dug into their catalog (which I now regret). I love that heavy bass and matching guitar song. "There has to be more this ole live than that 9 to 5".....Nice! Nothing stylish here accept the sound and I can respect that........................ Is it me or does this guy sound a little bit like Hank Jr?
Click 3 - I Need Those Things - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA2K91TFTvw
Looks like it will be fun trip tonight (lots of new stuff for me). I know absolutely nothing about this band except that someone can play a slide guitar and that is a true talent. I got researching to do.....
Click 4 - Roll the Bones - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykS8Gqyx_Ig
I am (or Youtube) on a roll tonight with new and totally different stuff. This is amazing, homeboy is doing this completely on his on and doing it live! I'm assuming some of those lyrics are "cajun" as I am not sure what he is saying.
Click 5 - What About Me - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnLvXABCxho
I'm not familiar with "PickaThon" but after two great songs in a row, I will be doing me homework. I really like her voice and that bassist is one hot mamma!
Click 6 -You Go Down Smooth - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfOkqLxjaMI
Good Lord! Let the research begin here, we are going to double dip tonight. That singer is some kind of soulful and that bassist needs a southern man in here life. I got to find me some Lake Street Drive discs.
That was a strange trip tonight. Start with something bluesy from a "semi punk" band and end up with something so soulful that I am begging a bassist for a girlfriend! Hey, every trip is eventful and this one is no different. Maybe I am just uber-tired or maybe the music is just that awesome! Either way, I will see you soon and hope you enjoyed the trip for the evening.

Its Early Friday, so lets hit a trail
Got home from work today and Youtube flashed me a quick reminder that I needed to re-watch this video, so I clicked it and suddenly remembered that this would be an awesome start to a trip....
Click 1 - Liquor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7uITA22HIY
Scorpion Child is awesome! These young guys know and understand the meaning of rock-n-roll in a way that few young bands do today. They have a very distinctive 70s throwback sound without just sounding like a 70s band. The singers voice is completely mesmerizing. I saw them about 2 years ago and they were all really nice chaps to boot. I recommend this album for anyone that claims to like rock and roll.
Click 2 - Sweet Mountain River - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHrRPLHRgDA
Youtube is on FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This song is so amazing and I was so excited when I saw it in the recommended list. I didn't know a video for this song existed, much less with a young lady that can wear a dress like that!!!!!! I stumbled across these guys a couple of years ago, when Amazon kept placing their albums in my recommendation list (another favorite way to find new bands). I finally took a flyer and tried an album. Yes, they have a fairly solid 70s sound but rather than being on the heavy side its more southern 70s. I like that!
Click 3 - It Aint Right - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cubsde0kYbw
Two thoughts; thanks to YouTube for introducing me to another new bad!!!!!!!! and two, Amen!!!! Watch the video, you will understand!!!!
Click 4 - Nobody Said It Was Easy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcveGZv799w
Well, I selected this one because I am not familiar with the band. Turns out that I missed something in the 80s (that's a shocker considering the 80s)! This is pretty good, not great. Looked them up and wikipedia claims them to be a "blues rock band" (hah), whatever, it sounds good enough and introduces me to something new.
Click 5 - 7 Oclock - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNFRQ9Lblz4
WOW!!!!! This is an awesome trip. The London Quireboys!!!!!!! I love this song. Its always been one of those songs (and bands) that I turn to when I ain't exactly happy but I really want to be!!! You know those moments when the "funk" creeps in but you really want to kick it out and you just need a little motivation. They never really made it BIG, but they have had a pretty good career and some great albums. If you are not familiar with them, dig a little deeper. Its very much like a modern (80-90s) Rolling Stones type groove.
Click 6 - Talk Dirty to Me - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCChxBSRo1Y
Lets end this one with a little fun...... reminds me of my youth when moms thought I was a nice boy too!!!! Pure 80s hair metal and skirt chasing fun here. Funny looking at this today, I wanted to look like and be like these guys when I was 16 (is it a man or a woman??????????) I guess that was the 80s! I cant remember how many times I have seen these guys live but each time has been fun. This is simple hair metal, grab the girl beside you rock and roll.
You know, I needed a fun trip and Youtube has provided that to me today. I hope you enjoyed it too.

Memorial Day, Raising some heckle
Raising some heckle? Better than raising some other things... anyway, lets start this one off with a little band that most would not think of from me.
Click 1 - Uncle Toms Cabin - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx6f68Wd9dc
This song is awesome, a little dark, if you will, but well written and well performed. Have to say that this is definitely on the tops of my Warrant chart.
Click 2 - Shake Me - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptPekKOigkQ
Nice addition for a summer time kick off. I saw these guys opening for DLR at the start of my senior year in high school. Man that seems like a long time ago. Ended my summer with them, so fitting that I kick off my summer with them now.
Click 3 - Rock Me - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg06B46VVys
One of the best blues based rock bands ever. I am as big an ACDC supporter as you will ever find, but these guys took to the blues side far more than ACDC, other than the longevity of the band and that steady back beat. To tell you how much I loved this band, my first and only set of leathers had a the "logo work" for Mista Bone painteed on the back of the jacket. Damn, I think my second wife still has that jacket. I need to figure that out.
Click 4 - Still of the Night - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_tfq0qTDDE
Tawney!!!!!!! A young man's dream and more!!!!! Met David and Tawna in Bham Alabama around 89 a couple hours before a show. Imagine this, it was a lingerie shop, I guess they were looking for something new for later that evening. The show was awesome if I remember correctly!?!?!?! LOL
Click 5 - Round and Round - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u8teXR8VE4
Might as well dig dig and go tot the song that drug me down into the pits of rock and roll. I remember seeing these guys at 15 in Bham Alabama. Dont ask how I got there, that is a long a glorious story. If it wasnt for Mitlon Berle, I would probably be blogging about Hip Hop, Rap and something even worse. That is the look that I wanted to achieve back in the day (Steven Pearcy) but could never convince my mother to let me do it. Looking back, thank goodness!!!!!! OHHH, not because I would not have enjoyed it, but because too many women liked that look then.....
Click 6 - I hate Myself for Loving You - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPkTGm4RtVM
Considering how this year has gone, I think this is great way to end the blog, enough said! Goodness, Joan looks awesome in those pants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a Weekend Update
I know the frequency has dropped, but I have actually been a little busy. Lets try a weekend update ...
Click 1 - Born to be Wild - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UWRypqz5-o
Got to love one of the original songs that admitted to the "heavy metal" sound. Love the bare minimal drums set. That isnt something you see everyday now.
Click 2 - American Woman - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8z1EzDouNs
Digging deep with this one, but its awesome. Placing the bassist in front of the guitar had to be a bit odd in those days, but for this song it works.
Click 3 - In a Gadda Da Vida - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIVe-rZBcm4
This song supposedly started out as a "in the garden of eden" but the suites thought that was too progressive for the times. Its a strong song either way but its a long one too.
Click 4 - Slow Ride - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcCNcgoyG_0
Well, I am definitely stuck in the 70s at this point, but not a bad trip if you ask me.
Click 5- Lonely is the Night - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKlu3A3BBgE
Dont know that this one qualifies as a 70s tune? I saw this one live in 86 with a little known band called RATT. All the same its a good one.....
Click 6 - Lay it on the Line - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz26fcmq3S8
Rick and company should could play. This video is definitely a 70s video, and most of their music is too. I never saw these guys live but I wish that I had done so. They were so talented and their music was so "soulful" fron a lyrical standpoint.

Dont know to much about this song, but its got "mama" in it, so it fits the night.
Click 4 - Mama Said - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FKYsUEuvIo
Pretty big change on this on, again, I am not following links as much as I am following "mama music" searches tonight. I like this one though....
Click 5 - Momma, Im Coming Home - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRJkP0d2UzI
This one had to be included! If for no other reason than Zakk Wylde wrote this one! This one has a slightly special meaning to me too.
Click 6 - Mamas Broken Heart - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yg05svXp98
I love this song for two maybe three reasons.... she is beautiful, the "rock n roll"sound she gets, and its so real. I love my mom, but times are so different .....

Lets Blog it up.....
For the starter block, lets try something a bit different. a little band out of the Great Northeast, playing some amazing Southern Rock. For this one though, we are going to kick it off with their cover of a Queen staple ...
Click 1 - Fat Bottom Girls - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syICIRCUrz0
I bet that was one fun show. I hope the rest go this great.
Click 2 - Mama Tried - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9_HnNj3m6w
Looks like we are going to take a country road on this trip!! I hope there is some dirt involved in it if we do.
Click 3 - Aint no Mystery - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Msxf8uevQlc
Never heard of this band, but it sounds pretty good to me. I see how we got here, based on that "Classic Rock" compilation disc. Nice. I really like that magazine, too bad its so expensive here in America.
Click 4 - Love Sickness - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP6bBD2rrfA
Not really sure what this is, but I like it. Again, this is off the Classic Rock compilation. I guess we will be stuck with it for the day. Could be worse places to be.
Click 5 - Pay Yer Dues - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiUckz8HdVI
This is some rocking stuff. Simple in style and groove, but they get the job done. A little too close to a punk sound for me, but the guitar work is nice and fits into the song nicely.
Click 6 - The Pusher - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XqyGoE2Q4Y
Oh my, I didn't think I would ever stumble across this one for the blog. An awesome song and a fun message too. As true today as it was then.

Boys of Summer ....
I'm too old for this BUT I got a call from a friend of my son-in-law today asking me to go play some "ball" with them this afternoon. Now, I played "ball" (baseball/softball/fast pitch softball) from the time I was old enough to walk till about 7 years ago. At one point, I would have considered myself a "good ball player" some say better than that, some say less. Either way, today, I learned that I am not in any condition to do that anymore. I have muscles that hurt that I did not know I had!!!!! I think a good ole fashioned soak in Epsom salt is needed. God, I enjoyed today.
The feel of the leather glove on my hand, catching one on the fly was awesome, the sting of the ball slamming into my glove, it was all "made for love" as my dad would say. With that in mind, lets start the adventure....
Click 1 - Take me out to the ball game - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUGFOWJtkyI
There is no better tradition than the singing of this song at Chicago field. Harry Carey did it best but I bet he didn't remember it?!?!?!?!?!? Anyway, they have artists, famous people and others do it today. You can't start this trip without going here first, besides I want to hit Centerfield next. After that, I don't care where we go but I hope it's got baseball as the subject.
Click 2 - Centerfield - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzFb3WcvCmI
I admit, this one was pre-planned! I don't want to have too many of those moments, but I absolutely love the "Louisville Slugger" guitar! The next one might require a little finagling but we will get there or we will have a second "Click 1" tonight.
Click 3 - I'm Alright - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2wjbrIDEIQ
Strangely this song was in my options list, so I took it. I like UKJ but they probably turn off my people with their lyrics and don't give a crap way of presenting them. This one is pretty clean. However, they have had a few songs over the years that where "in your face" real and down right dirty. Me, I like that, but that isn't good if you are trying sell albums.
Click 4 - Walk - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkFqg5wAuFk
It has a baseball sounding title, but this has nothing to do with baseball! Love the song, happy we hit it. This band influenced so many bands like them today. It is also the entrance song for one the greatest wrestlers ever .. Rob Van Dam!!!!!!!!!!!!
Click 5 - One - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzgGTTtR0kc
Damn, I remember this one. I was 21 (my birthday) and some friends of mine took my to see this tour at the old Omni in Atlanta, GA! Amazing, these guys played for nearly 4 hours! This was the closer for that show.
Click 6 - Patience - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErvgV4P6Fzc
Well, this was not first choice but the first video I clicked was soooooo bad that I called an audible This song isn't my preferred way to end tonight but its better, I promise.
Its been one hell of a week. I joined that super cool club of being a grand dad! I learned that I don't need to be playing ball anymore too. All in one week! I think I will go take a bath and hope that I can walk tomorrow. In the meantime, I plan for the next trip to be downright awesome. I hope it turns out that way as we are going to start with what I consider one of the greatest songs ever written .....

Yeah I know, I owe you a blog
Sunday was Easter, I was not going to blog on that day. Besides, I hope you were spending the day with loved ones like me. If not, go out and get you some loved ones.
In addition, Sunday was the day that my oldest daughter (step-daughter if you want to be exact) went to the hospital to have her baby. At her development level, Sunday would have been awesome, but since she was dealing with high blood pressure, Sunday didn't make much sense.
Neither did Monday, according to little Jayce Ryan, so he held out till Tuesday morning. Hence there has not been and will not be a Click Through today.
I am completely open to suggestions on where to start with the next one. Since little Jayce is my first grand child, I was thinking something like "Baby Please Dont Go" but I would like to hear your suggestions. I would like to have the next starter song be something with the word "baby" in the title though.
Check back in a day or two as I recover from this event.

Another Saturday afternoon
Just got back from the bowling alley, got a new ball drilled today. Fantastic. I'm really looking forward to rolling that beast in competition.
Looked up YouTube today and dang if it ain't starting to suggest some different stuff now. So, since you ain't making any suggestions, lets try one from YouTube and see where it gets us.
Click 1 - Drinking Gasoline - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmnUayaQyBk
Got to admit, I like some "Rock-a Billy" music! I also like this song. The thick bottom on that bass is carrying the song with limited guitar goodness. This video needs a hottie or two but other than that the black and white nature of the video goes well with the song.
Click 2 - Let Me Teach You How to Eat - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H96XcNWKZVg
Well, looks like we will be stuck with the Rock-a-Billy scene tonight. The "Rev" is definitely the king of this music. I have had the privilege of seeing this guy three time live, and I shared a few drinks with the band on and occasion. This is not the best song from the Rev and the band, but it keeps the music going.
Click 3 - The Devil's Son - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwEgUKMRX5w
Holy cow, she scares me and captivates me in my ways that are so wrong. I really love how the whole band is dressed in 50's gangster outfits and that little "dimple" above her lips. WOW! That song has my ticker going !!!!!!!!
Click 4 - Pass that Bottle - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqi3CSGJnds
And you thought the haven't made any good music since the 50's? That is two hot mommies to me. Love the whole B/W thing except for the girls. Red dresses, lively tattoos .... YUM.
Click 5 - Down that Line - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpjBN-61C6Q
Where can I get me a car like that? Terrible dress on the singer! Why is it that some many of the singers with "rock-a billy" are women anyway?
Click 6 - My Love for Evermore - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rlYPb2plaY
Love the Lucha Libre mask hood ornament. His voice a little wierd, mabye too my cigarettes in his time? Wow, its a duet? of some degree? The imagery is awesome. This is one sick "love song".
Well, that is the trip for today. I think it was cool!

Thursday and no bowling???!?!!!??!!?!!?!?!?!?
So, normally I bowl on Thursday too but I am not bowling tonight as I am in between leagues. I am hoping that my kids will bowl with me for the summer, In a truly "fun" league. I did however go and buy a new ball for me tonight, which starts us off the this band .....
Click 1 - Saab Sonnet - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqJ7OQmwCXY
They come up first tonight as I looked up the website for my new ball and they are sponsored by the company that makes that ball. DV8 is the name of the company and the ball that I will be buying is called RECKLESS. I figured the one thing I could do is check out these guys, so you shall too.
Click 2 - If I had a Gun - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNgOxD1lQNw
Love this band, they have one of the greatest current guitarist playing with them on this song, Ed Mundell. Another one of those videos that has no video though. Really weird for the song to have lyrics though.
Click 3 - Heathen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLYXkmSJRwg
I LOVE the name of this band. I have a couple of their albums! This is another one of those Small Stone Records finds for me! However, it is another one of those no video videos and I hate the mixing of this one as you cant hear lyrics. Bottom line, this one is heavy!!!!! :)
Click 4 - Drunk as Hell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JTFg4UzvMw
Don't judge this song by the title, or maybe you should, but this one is cool. Yet another video with no video, but I like the music all the same. That guitar solo is awesome! and the the bass to his voice is very different.
Click 5 - Hobo Low - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a33sB3ck28A
Love this guy. I found him a few years ago. Would love to see him live. I gotta believe that all his stuff is true and that scares me. All the same, I bet he would be fun to hand out with UNTIL the trouble started. Roots style blues that make me wanna stand up and scream.
Click 6 - ?????????????? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVh4e8GjheQ
I dont know the name of this song, but I do know that Seasick Steve is jamming with on the legendary bassists in the music industry. Do you notice LED ZEPPELIN rhythm man John Paul Jones? I think Steve normally plays with just him and the drummer guy,but adding the bass to it is awesome. This video is about an hour long and he goes through so many of his "guitars" for the show, but he is so amazing I can't turn away.
I hope you like the whole trip, Steve is awesome! Let me know what you think and suggest a starting song or two.

Wednesday Night Blast
Like I said, life has been a bit stressful. Today was a little less stressful than yesterday for me, but my coworker was struggling again today. I guess her place on the corporate ladder has to take a more crap than me at my point OR I decided my "give a crap meter" was a little lower than her's today. Either way, I think this first song is appropriate .....
Click 1 - Liquor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7uITA22HIY
If you follow me on Google +, then you know how I feel about this song and band. They are awesome, the whole 70's comparison is true but at the same time, they bring an amazing true to today quality of it. I saw them in 2013 opening for Clutch and Orange Goblin. It was an awesome triple bill. The really nice thing was that after the show they were all gentlemen, took time to sign anything (and I mean anything, thanks Ladies) and simply hang out with everyone. This is true down to Earth Rock and Roll.
Click 2 - Sweet Mountain River and Old Train (Live) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVatMHAXC80
Considering that we are in the south, how can I pass up ... Monster Truck? Sounds perfect to me and so does the music. Its hard to believe that this is truly live. The production and the sound is amazing. I figure this is "live" in a studio.
Click 3 - The Weight - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjCw3-YTffo
I guess we are going to slow this one down a little now. I think this one could be a bit about stress, take a load off...... and share a load with me. That sounds like what we do at work to help each other.
Click 4 - Cant You See - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCXQycyN_Vs
Fabulous song. Not an official video (may not be one) so you don't have to watch it. However, I think it fits the night's trip perfectly. I hate that I have never seen this band live. I imagine it is awesome.
Click 5 - Train, Train - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBP15lRprPs
No offense to one of my favorite bands, but this is the greatest harmonica opening songs ever! I haven't seen this band live either (they were a few years too early for me). Another "video" that simply presents the song, that happens on YouTube but at least you get introduced to something new (if that is the case for you).
Click 6 - Radar Love - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwqMKf7r7X
I got soooooooo excited when I saw this one pop up. I was really hoping that it was a real video not a "lyric" video. This has to be one of my favorite "screw you" to the radar type songs. Bottom line, this one rings so true today as it did when it was recorded.
Music is an amazing stress-relieve tool. I don't care what kind of music you listen to, classical, rock, country, hip-hop or some weird variation of it all, I DOES NOT MATTER. Music has this weird way of washing it all off our backs. Try my ride, if you don't like it, try your ride. Either way, enjoy he ride!

Terrible Tuesday
Its been a little crazy at work lately and its really grating on the nerves of many of my co-workers. Today, one lady made a comment to me about her current stress level and it made me think about the first song....so lets get started....
Click 1 - Pissed off and Mad about It - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=297n1dojrkE
THC is awesome. I think this may be there second song for our strange six click trip. Love that driving rhythm section on this song. Big Daddy Rich is a big boy, I bet he has had more than his share of some quality Texas BBQ in his time.
Click 2 - Alcohaulin' Ass - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBaIQreV8Yk
Looks like we are headed for a fun ride tonight. Normally this Texas based band is a little on the heavy side, this is awesome stuff. I've never heard this song, going to have to add it to my rotation.
Click 3 - Its Hard to Kiss the Lips at Night that Chew Your Ass Out All Day Long - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjkLf_X88WM
How could I possibly pass up a song title like that? That has to be the longest song title ever, and the weirdest COUNTRY song ever. Speaking of weird, those have to be some of the ugliest "women" ever to be in a video. Just for the record, regardless of good or bad, I do actually watch the whole video once it is selected. Rough but funny.
Click 4 - Keep Your Hands of My PBR - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56duVYLsd4Q
Oh lord, once you hit the country track its hard to get out of the rut, but this is awesome. Reminds me of another co-worker that thinks PBR "tall boys" are the greatest invention ever. I was with this video until they decided to show this guy in his underwear, and I apologize for the lyrics. I didn't write them, I just stumbled on the video.

Soggy Bottom Boys is an awesome name. How did we end up here? What is possibly next?
Click 6 - Bartender Song (Sittin At a Bar) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdEvL6jxUYA
Well, we started off dealing with a stressful day, I guess another song related to doing stupid stuff while drinking is a fine way to finish this trip. Good Lord, looking back I promise I didn't plan for this to be a drinking solves stress trip. Don't call AA, we will call you. HA! Love the whole made from spare parts instruments at the end (see I do watch the whole video).
So the moral to the trip tonight? Stress sucks, you can get pissed off but all that's going to do is make you mad; you can drink it up, but all that's going to do is lead you to some mixed results!
So, tonight we get a bonus video, hope this makes you feel better; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6zl5x8r9Bs; stress may suck but it beats feeding the worms in the ground!

Two for Monday ...
Bouncing off the previous post, lets hit this road ...
Click 1 - Paradise City - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rbm6GXllBiw
In my opinion, the best single from what should be one of the greatest bands in the world today except, the lead singer became the biggest douche in rock history, the rhythm guitarist is now playing country, the drummer has been in and out of rehab so many times that they threw him out of the band and they are the only band I have ever seen that actually canceled in the middle of the show due to a "hissy fit". Yeah fame is too difficult to handle!!!!!
Click 2 - Thunderstruck - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2AC41dglnM
Ahhhhh, the greatest band ever plays the greatest intro song for sporing events. Think I am wrong, wait till you are sitting with 100+ thousand fans and the Alabama Crimson Tide hits that football field to this song and you see that reaction. Been there and done that!!!!!! Roll Tide!!!!!
Click 3 - Pour Some Sugar On Me - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UIB9Y4OFPs#aid=P8xGY7XPZAw
First link to expand to the second line. Without a doubt one of the "funnest" concerts I saw in the 80s. Notice the drummer is playing with one arm? Also of note, the band sold this stage to George Straight not long after finishing there world tour. I saw the opening band "delivered" to the stage in large laundry hampers to get them to the stage so that they could perform and they left by literally running through the crowd when they were done performing. Tesla!!!! Sadly, at the age of 18 I had jeans that looked equally bad.
Click 4 - Here I Go Again - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3MXiTeH_Pg
David was old by the time they shot this video, but she (Shawna?) was not and she looked awesome climbing on those cars. This was every boys dream (at least at my age). Saw them not long after the video came out and I remember seeing both of them prior to the show in an elevator, a great moment for a 17 year old boy.
Click 5 - Once Bitten Twice Shy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz61YQWZuYU
Speaking of fun 80's tunes, this one comes as a cover song. Funny thing, I had my leather packet painted with the skull at 0:16 seconds wearing a head band that proclaimed "Mr. Bone"!!! World Class now that I think about it but I was 16/17 at the time. I think my second wife still has that jacket. To bad this band didn't go further. I had the privilege of seeing these guys numerous times over the years. Awesome everytime. Not a bad looker in the "backup band either", many stories can be told about several of them.
Click 6 - Cherry Pie - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjyZKfdwlng
This may not be the best song option to end with but since I hinted at it previously, You might notice that the hot blond in the black bra in the previous video is the same hottie dancing in this video too. Good lord, in my young man days, this was the bomb!!!!!
Alright, one of my favorite trips. I have seen each of these bands multiple times regardless of band changes and my age changes. I love good ole fashion 80s hair metal music! Im sure we will see more examples of this in future blogs.

Monday Night
Its bowling night. I stunk up the lanes, but the team pulled us through to victory. Makes me want to start with something from the days of the bowling alley. Lets find something like this ...
Click 1 - Story of My Life - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh8zcbC_Dcw
Ok, so "bowling songs" was a great failure. I fell back to a really cool "punk" band Social Distortion. Really dig the whole look, sound and grit of the band. This one is a little easier on the ears than their other tunes. Starting here could get us a wild ride though ...
Click 2 - The Kids Aren't Alright - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrZ4sMRYimw
Wow, haven't heard this band in years. According to Wikipedia, the lead singer has a PHd in Molecular Biology. I guess a little smarts is a good thing in the weird world of "punk rock". These guys have been around for a while, and this video is cool.
Click 3 - Smells like Teen Spirit - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTWKbfoikeg
The song and video attributed with killing 80's hair metal. Still a great song and video. Too bad only one of these guys has gone on to do anything real in the music world. Are all left handed guitarist from Seattle bound for a short life?
Click 4 - Chop Suey! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSvFpBOe8eY
Honestly, I have no expectations for this song or video. The little I know about this band is boring to me. However, with a title like that, lets see what we can get..... well, that didn't change my mind about this band at all.
Click 5 - Zombies - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ejga4kJUts
I really dig movies on this topic, not sure if the song will meet my expectations though. I have heard this one once or twice in karaoke bars performed rather poorly!?!?!? Visually, this video is stunning but the song remains far from my taste.
Click 6 - Whats Up - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NXnxTNIWkc
Gonna close this one with a song that I would never have chosen as a starter song but its not too bad. She has a rather hypnotic voice with great range. I like that on top of the acoustic guitar. Do you think she could swallow a Big Mac in one bite with that mouth though? Not a bad way to end the trip tonight.
I may have stunk at bowling, but the musical trip we took was worth ending the night. Good Night, Sleep Tight!

Saturday Night is the Night for ....?!?!?!?!?!
Kicking off tonight with a tribute to tonight, Saturday Night. Let's start here
Click 1 - Saturday Night - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBn2ux5vRHk
Love the whole "spell out the chorus" thing. I truly had never heard this song before, I was expecting some Elton John, this isn't far from it.
Click 2 - Kiss you all over - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GymGszRFN8#aid=P-rF6oPVuB0
Well, I've heard this song before. It's a strange one for my taste, but this is the point of the trip. Introduce yourself to something new. Listening to this, I could imagine INXS busting this out in a mean way.
Click 3 - Driver's seat - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnXTQpUpEds
Staying with the Saturday night theme (listen and you will undersand), check out this one hit wonder. Doubt it was the "official" video giving the quality of the photos, but this song SUCKS! To be honest, I am familiar with the song, an extended version is worse than the regular version. Oh well, that's the trip.
Click 4- Hot Child in the City - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-eVxtuMR0o
Never heard this tune. Sounded good by the title and considering the Saturday Night topic, I thought I would give it a try. Sounds like a laid back disco tune. Video clips are from a movie that I have never seen too. Enjoy, if you can.
Click 5 - Wild Thing - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiO7jieJopw
Let's get a good song. Definitely not an original video but the 60's women vids makes this feel authentic.
Click 6 - Sharp Dressed Man - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_5YJoMNmXc
That little band from Texas, sure left a huge impression on the rock world in the 80s and 90s. Today they keep on rocking and influencing a lot of bands. Not a bad way to finish off the night.
Its Saturday, time for me to go out myself. Have fun, keep it fun and keep it safe.

No kiddie Songs this TIme
I got an amazing massage today. So to celebrate, we're gonna leave that kiddie music behind. It's time to get real..... Warning to all with weak ears, you will get offended on this trip and it will be LOUD!
Click 1 - House of Doom - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aEM0HGUPFA
Love this song, probably my third favorite from Zakk. To me it has a Jim Morrison style of lyric with the power of Zakk. Looking at the selections, we will be hanging with Zakk for most of this trip. That's good with me, I am feeling great today.
Click 2 - Stillborn - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yUZJZC2V40
Staying with Zakk and the Black Label Society (SDMF people)! An amazing video and song. The producer of the video was Rob Zombie. Hence some of the strange imagery. I like it.
Click 3 - Funeral Bell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVO-3_pjuSg
Nice intro, play a little Black Sabbath to get to the Funeral Bell. Loved it. Considering we are half way down and Youtube hasn't presented a different direction, we will be rocking with Zakk the rest of the way. Maybe something from Pride and Glory will show up though.
Click 4 - Solo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bklFIanHdk
The fact that his guitar did not simultaneously implode from that solo is awesome.
Click 5 - Tribute to Les Paul (Live at the Ryman) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIN3Yta97vE
A slightly different side of Zakk and definitely in a venue that would not be normal for him.
Click 6 - Crossroads - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCP5t1N1D6s
We made this far with Zakk, lets finish with him too but spice it up with a little Joe Bonamassa. A great pairing on a great song.
I gotta go, gotta go bowl that 300 tonight. I am amped for the game, I hope you are equally amped from the performances.

Muppets and Fun, Ohhhh Yeah
About six months ago, I was having a really bad day and a co-worker looked at me and said "mahna mahna". I thought he was off his rocker until he played our starting video. I don't care how bad your day is, you cant help but laugh with this song.
Click 1 - Mahna Mahna - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N_tupPBtWQ
The question is, where do we go from here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????????????
Click 2 - Bohemian Rhapsody - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgbNymZ7vqY
Didn't see this one coming. I figured we would be trapped in some kiddie songs, but the Muppet's covering Queen!?!!? That is awesome. However, looking at the options, we are going to be stuck with the Muppets for this trip.
Click 3 - American Woman - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV4F46N21PA
Well, at least its still rock n roll. Ok, so they really didn't play the song or .... this is a terrible trip.
Click 4 - Surprise - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N_tupPBtWQ
See you can't get mad when that song is in your head, and it will be stuck in your head for the next few days.
Click 5 - Beakers Ballad - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAtBki0PsC0
Another fail. I really thought Beaker was going to help us out, but "Dust in the Wind"? Come on Beaker we thought better of you.
Click 6 - Another Surprise - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFGQBU_UJBs
Awesome!!!! See what I mean about that song? What? You thought I was going to give you that same Muppet's version three times in a single post?, Shame on you. Did you at least look at the link and notice that it was different?
Now before you sign off, look to your left and look for you right...what do you have to do to have a good Mahna Mahna night?
Peace out. Send me some suggestions for starter songs please.

Another Small Stone Try
The last one took us on a great adventure so lets try another one. I think we will start with The Five Horse Johnson. I saw these guys years ago in Atlanta. I wish they played through the south more often.
Click 1 - She Dont Know - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11p8OQ5dubI
Excellent video, not sure what it has to do with the song but fun none the less.
Click 2 - Electric Worry - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab6lr2b66Ig
WOW! Clutch is awesome. Seen them a few times in various places. These guys are the true meaning of rock and roll. That harmonica player is a member of the previous band which helps me to understand why we landed here. "Aint room for one thing in every-bodies grave" is a fabulous line. This is a full on complete ROCK-N-ROLL song!!!!!!!!!!!
Click 3 - Pissed Off and Mad About It - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjCtHgNEcV0
THC!!!! These guys are AWESOME! I love the fact that this is so in your face! Not sure why they are so unhappy, LOL, but this is some hardcore Texas rock n roll. This is also a high quality video. I really like the whole simplicity of the video, live and straight in your face.
Click 4 - Boss's Daughter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFOvZojUJto
Wasn't sure what I was getting into here, but DAMN! Mick Mars from Motley Crue sitting in with this band makes a big sound and some lovely ladies too! Makes me wonder what the rest of the album sounds like. This is why we took this trip; to find something new that we might like.
Click 5 - Were an American Band - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzlky9Klu4I
Hah! and you thought, how do we get here. I think Rob Zombie is awesome. I did not know this existed. The king of horror pays some tribute. I love it. Sorry if some of the images offend you in this video.
Click 6 - When Worlds Collide - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsV500W4BHU
No trip is perfect and I thought we were going to have one, but then this showed up. Not that this is terrible but it is different. I need to marinade on this one. Maybe its OK, maybe NOT.
Like all trips, you will enjoy some parts but some you will not. I really liked the start of the trip. but I'm not so sure about the ending. I hope you enjoyed the whole thing though.

Lets Start with a Little Something from the Best (Maybe?) Record Label in America
One of my favorite record labels over the past ten years has bee Small Stone Records. You can look them up, this isn't meant to be about "the man", except that I perceive this record label to be more about "the band" and less about "the man".
Over these years, there is very little music that I haven't enjoyed from the label. To start the night, we are going to start with The Brought Low. They are from New York, you will see this from the video. I tried to see them last year in Columbus Ohio. Shamefully, after a 12 hour drive, they were a NO SHOW. While mad about that, I'm sure there was a legit reason. I still enjoyed the stay with my sister.
PS- While I do plan to choose the route, I don't plan want anyone to think that it is prepared. I will still choose whatever strikes my fancy or isn't the same ole same ole getting to the destination.
Click 1 - Kings and Queens - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvUXh9qyBso
Fabulous song, not my favorite but represents this band well. Did you notice the pictures of Run DMC and the Ramones? I probably missed a couple of others too.
Click 2 - Going Away - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwaIb9yZL0c
Limited options from the previous song, most where for The Brought Low. Never heard of this band. Its definitely different but I like it. Its not Small Stone Records for sure.
Click 3 - Sun Kill Moon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW3_8Q45xM8
Well, this will be different. I haven't heard of this group or song either, but that is the purpose of the trip ... to learn something along the way. I have to say that I despise these "videos" that are really just the song with one image on the screen the whole time. I really like that guitar lick in the background though.
Click 4 - Mother - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Gw5pyjBYmQ
Wow, we have definitely taken a different route than I would have thought tonight. This is a fairly old song, love the intensity of the song. I think it is actually a remake from someone else, but it is the most famous of songs from Danzig. Great video showing what it is like at one of his shows though.
Click 5 - Rebel Yell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPwZaQfoIbU
A little Billy Idol! Regretfully a "lyric" video, no need to watch. Still, we dont find a Small Stone band, guess we will have to try this trip again another day. Lets see what is next.....
Click 6 - Poison - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMrcYDrtjng
The original shock rock master himself. This is probably his greatest selling single of all time. I don't know too much about Alice, but I do know that his stage show is amazing. Whether you like the music or not, his concerts are not to be missed. The pageantry and magic that he does on stage is simply not to be missed.
Well, I thought I might be surrounded with a series of all my personal favorites, but that was not to be tonight. Living up to the true One Click process, we took a different route but its all rock n roll and I can appreciate that!

Biloxi Education System Starts Here
Since I started my day? or night? in Biloxi on the way home from New Orleans early this morning, lets start with something that the city is known for but lets go with a lesser known version.
Click 1 - The Gambler - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzyL0hBboYU
I didn't know that Johnny did this song but that is the kind of stuff you learn when you randomly enter a song title into YouTube.
Click 2 - Yankee Rose - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz5w06Naq0c
Why this song comes up as a suggested link, I will never figure out but the video is awesome. One of my favorite front men of all time. "Ill take a bottle of anything .... and a glazed doughnut TO GO...."
Click 3 - Crossroad Blues Duel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD4o3VDnftI
I simply amazing scene from a good movie. The long hair freak in this video was playing guitar for David Lee Roth, hence the link. At this point, he was fairly "unknown" except by the guitar geek world. I am so happy this link come up....
Click 4 - Just a Guitar Duel (You will see) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFrcPgyRG9w
Two of my favorite guitarist of all time. I am so happy that this route has gone this way. Zakk's language may be a little "rough" at times, but the music is amazing. Guess who they are covering!@!! Also, it is so weird to see Zakk without the whole beard and viking look.,
Click 5 - Foxey Lady - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PVjcIO4MT4
While we are on Jimi Hendrix, lets look at an original. 1968 (hah, before I was even born) in Miami. I think Noel's fro was bigger than Jimi's in this one!!!! Nice none the less, another amazing entry for today! What could we possibly end with?
Click 6 - Stairway to Heaven - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q7Vr3yQYWQ
From one guitar god to another. Lets finish this thing strong.
Started with an old school country song and end up traveling through four amazing guitar gods of the last four decades. I think this trip has been simply amazing.
In honor of Wrestlemania, Lets Start Here
Just returned from New Orleans and Biloxi. I couple of fun places to visit, too bad it was all in a 31 hour jaunt. I attended the 30th Wrestlemania and made it back to Biloxi to donate a few dollars to their education fund (LOL).
Anyway, in celebration of attending my 1st Wrestlemania, I thought it would be fun to start with this song. the band played it live at the show last night and it was awesome.
Click 1 - Broken out in Love or "Live in Fear" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgcmSs5xdUs
Considering that we were in New Orleans, they had a "voodoo priestess" dancing along to the music and this particular wrestlers gimmick is totally freaky, this song fit the bill. Don't know where this one is going to lead us to, or if it even will but it is worth checking out.
Click 2 - Special Op - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewAN-6OA5Z0
Looks like this might be an all wrestling theme song edition. I really hope not, but considering where we started......
Click 3 - We won't Go Home - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msiTheOQNiY
Well, you got away from wrestler's theme songs, but I don't think it is for the better. I can honestly say this isn't for me, but I'm sure that someone out there in LaLaLand likes it?
Click 4 - Temple - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nItYgMJBMA0
At least I have heard of this group, let's check it out. Well....its better but not really my style. Again, one click at a time.
Click 5 - I See Fire - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fngvQS_PmQ
Cool, this one has a tie in to the movie of my favorite book of all time; The Hobbit. I give the song a B- but I give the video an A. I can't wait for the video to come out on DVD (yes, I still buy those things!)
Click 6 - Watch the Walls Melt Down - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hSGUpdCSes
Where can I get a tricked out VW van like that? Yuck, is this Hip-hop or Rap or both? Does it matter? This is hurting my ears.
Regardless of the trip, that was the route I took today. I hope you enjoyed it more than I did though.

Looks like a fun trip tonight
Since its opening night and I got no where to be (other than Wrestlemania tomorrow), lets try a "two-fer" for the night. Considering the wild trip we took on the last one, lets start here ...
Click 1 - Fortunate Son - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvwQmxLaknc
This song is a carry over from the previous post, but it is an awesome one. I will be in New Orleans tomorrow for the Wrestelmania XXX. Check out that bottom sound on this one.....
Click 2 - Gimme Shelter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUqqNLB0_FI
Only seems natural to make this transition. Nice photography in this one. Like em or not, one of the greatest acts on rock n roll history. They started before I was born and continue on today. That lips and tongue icon is one of the greatest and easiest to recognize icons of all time.
Click 3 - Symphony for the Devil - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftZ3UCdTuWQ
While I prefer to not have two songs by the same band "back-to-back", its tough to pass up on this opportunity. Love this song. Think its fun to see all of the "band photos" in which they all seem happy. A good friend of mine used to cover this in his shows, amazing!
Click 4 - Kashmir - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfR_HWMzgyc
One of the first true "heavy metal" bands and with out a doubt one of the greatest singer and guitar combinations, Led Zeppelin is an all time favorite. This one leaves me with several cool directions to go for the next song, but in the meantime enjoy the next eight minutes.
Click 5 - Riders on the Storm- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS-af9Q-zvQ
Without a doubt one of the coolest songs of its time brought to you from one of the coolest dudes of his day. Definitely deserves the award for best use keyboards on a grooving song. A tripping good song, no doubt written on a good trip itself.
Click 6 - Comfortably Numb - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUYzQaCCt2o
While I am not a fan of Pink Floyd, this one showed up in the list. It is significantly important because Roger and David don't generally perform together. Sit back and enjoy an original by the originals.

Thought I would try something new
Since I dropped my previous blog, I thought I would try something new. Rather than ramble about family, I thought it might be a nice experiment to try something about music. For this one, I thought I would try an experiment similar to the "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" except it would be six clicks of videos from Youtube.
It goes like this, I enter a video song title into Youtube and start with it.. Then I find a suggested video link and go through six clicks. At each "click", I will take a different band, assuming one is suggested.
The inaugural start will be "Highway to Hell" by the great AC/DC. Lets see where it takes us.
Click 1 - Highway To Hell - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l482T0yNkeo
One of the greatest songs by the greatest bands ever. Bon in the video is awesome. Enough said.
Click 2 - Shoot to Thrill - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G19TWqolIQ
Only AC/DC options were provided, but I didn't mind this one at all. Jessica can be my Daisy in that bikinin anytime.
Click 3 - Just the Good Ole Boys - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qogVHlmFcx0
Well, Waylon isn't isn't exactly my kind of music, but Katherine looked fabulous on the video so who am I to complain. Plus the rules are the rules, goodness knows where I am headed tonight.
Click 4 - East Bound and Down - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnRwQjTYfGI
That is a funny one, Burt's laugh is awesome and that car is to be desired.
Click 5 - Keep Your Hands Off my PBR - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56duVYLsd4Q
Wow! Maybe I need to point out that I do not indorse any of these songs. I pick on (the first one) and I follow the links that are presented to me. Generally speaking, I pick these by the quality of the song title. This one was definitely different.
Click 6 - Copperhead Road - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvaEJzoaYZk
Not saying that we hit a few dudes on the way this time, but I am happy to end on a "good one". Probably one of the "heaviest" songs this guy ever wrote, but like most, it's a good one. Bring me a little of that good stuff if you don't mind.
We went from AC/DC to Steve Earle on that trip. I hope you enjoyed it.
